Text Box: September “Uncovering Nature’s Secrets Through Photography” with Ed & Kathy Bergeron

What a great way to start out our new season!   On a beautiful day in September, the MGC returned to Tin Mountain Conservation Center to kick off our new season.

 

President, Anne Ficke and her new team of Officers did a great job in welcoming everyone back for our new year and Linda Hastings distributed our new membership books.  Annie presented Tin Mountain with a donation from the club and we heard from Mike Cline and Donna Dolan of TMC.  Of course, we once again had great raffle prizes.  We covered a number of topics including the bulb sale, new fundraisers and  preparation for the Holiday Boutique (from Gini Cornila).   Lots of things to review and catch up on but the meeting went by in record time.

 

The highlight, of course, was the  exceptional presentation by Ed and Kathy Bergeron who are accomplished Nature photographers.  They presented a wonderful slide show of photos and taught us what to look for in a camera subject and how to take a great photo.  Ed’s hummingbird photo was featured on our yearbook last year and Kathy’s butterfly is featured on our current yearbook. 

 

It was a truly educational presentation and everyone left armed with great enthusiasm to go out and start photographing nature in our gardens.
