The Mountain Garden Club has a varying roster of interesting and rewarding projects within the Valley.  Below we list just a few of our many activities:

Every year the Mountain Garden Club raises funds to provide a scholarship to a deserving student within the area of Mount Washington Valley.   It has now become a very focal point of the club and one we are proud to continue.

Members have an opportunity throughout the year to participate in various trips around and out of the Valley.  These include: member garden tours, the Boston Flower Show, Art in Bloom and the Lupine Festival.  Trips are organized by members as a social as well as educational function.

Held each year at the end of May, members share their gardens through a Plant Sale held at the North Conway Community Center.  They also sell Spring Flowering Bulbs as a fundraiser in the Fall.  Proceeds provide funding for our many projects including Cancer awareness, Civic Improvement and Scholarship.

One of our largest fund raisers in the Spring.  Table arrangements and other raffle items designed by members provide funding for Scholarship programs and Cancer Awareness

Spring Plant Sale / Fall Bulb Sale

The club takes on summer beautification which includes planting and maintaining public properties (parks, gazebos, traffic islands, etc.) within the communities of Jackson, Bartlett, Conway, North Conway and Freedom. Our newest CIP programs are working with Habitat for Humanity®, Children Unlimited, the Gibson Senior Center, and The Children’s Park of Bartlett.

Each monthly meeting, provides educational opportunities for members on a varying number of subjects from a wide variety of experts in their respective fields.  Among the topics included are:  presentations on the environment and conservation, gardening technique seminars by Master Gardeners, instruction in Outdoor Photography, demonstration of cooking techniques using fresh flowers & herbs, and “Lunch & Learn” presentations by noted authors and radio personalities.

Holiday Decorations & Christmas Boutique

The MGC creates Holiday wreaths and decorations for public buildings throughout the Mount Washington Valley at no charge to the properties.  For the public, we create beautiful holiday baskets, wreaths, trees, decorations and the like for sale.  Proceeds fund our scholarships, projects and community service.
